Little Prairie Farms Sales Agreement
At Little Prairie Farms, our goal is to produce healthy, structurally correct, and productive Nigerian Dwarf goats that will be an asset to every herd. We appreciate your interest in our breeding program and ask that you carefully review the following policies before placing a reservation or purchasing an animal.
By submitting a deposit or purchasing an animal from Little Prairie Farms, you acknowledge that you have read, understand, and agree to the terms outlined below.
Herd Retention
Little Prairie Farms reserves the right to retain any kid from any breeding for our own herd at our sole discretion. All reservations and waitlist requests are subject to our retention decisions.
Reservations & Waitlists
Reservations for planned breedings are accepted with a non-refundable $100 reservation fee for both does and bucks. Reservation fees are applied toward the final purchase price of your kid.
Reservations are filled in the order deposits are received after any retained kids have been selected.
When placing a reservation, you may request a backup breeding. If your selected breeding is unavailable, you may be moved to your alternate breeding or placed on our complimentary waitlist.
If your reservation cannot be fulfilled, you may choose to:
Transfer your reservation to another available breeding
Roll your reservation forward to the following kidding season
Request a refund of your reservation fee
There is no deposit required for our pet/wether waitlist.
Reservation Priority
Preference may be given to established performance herds that actively participate in ADGA performance programs, including:
ADGA Dairy Herd Improvement (Milk Testing)
ADGA Linear Appraisal
ADGA-sanctioned dairy goat shows
Pricing
Kid pricing is determined by the overall quality and performance of each breeding. Factors considered include, but are not limited to:
Production records and milk stars
Breed Leader recognition
Show accomplishments
Linear Appraisal scores
Proven production and consistency of both sire and dam
Overall genetic merit and pedigree
Kid Selection & Payment
Once you are notified that your reserved kid is available, a deposit equal to 50% of the purchase price is due within 48 hours.
The remaining balance must be paid in full before the animal leaves our farm.
Deposits are non-refundable if the buyer cancels or is unable to complete the purchase. However, deposits may be transferred to another available animal at the discretion of Little Prairie Farms.
If we do not receive your deposit or hear from you within the required timeframe, your reservation may be forfeited and offered to the next buyer on our waitlist.

Any transaction fees are the responsibility of the buyer.
Personal checks for final payment must be received at least 10 days prior to pickup. Checks will not be accepted on the day of pickup.
Pickup & Transportation
Buyers are responsible for arranging pickup or transportation.
Animals must be picked up on the agreed-upon date unless other arrangements have been approved in advance. Failure to do so may result in forfeiture of all deposits, and the animal may be retained or resold by Little Prairie Farms.
For out-of-state buyers, we are happy to coordinate with licensed ground or air transporters. Buyers are responsible for all transportation-related expenses, including:
Health certificates
Required testing
Airline-approved crate
Transportation fees
Delivery to the airport or transporter
Health Guarantee
We stand behind the health of every animal we sell.
Our herd is routinely tested, and proof of negative herd testing for CAE and CL is available upon request.
Buyers have the opportunity to examine their animal at pickup. If a buyer feels the animal is not healthy, they may decline the purchase before the animal leaves our property.
Once an animal leaves Little Prairie Farms, all sales are final.
We cannot guarantee the health of an animal after it leaves our care due to factors beyond our control, including transportation, stress, biosecurity, nutrition, and management practices.
Genetic Guarantee
We strive to produce sound, healthy breeding animals. However, we cannot guarantee:
Mature size
Final conformation
Mammary development
Future milk production
Show performance
Fertility beyond normal breeding expectations
Should a confirmed hereditary defect be identified, we require written documentation from a licensed veterinarian before considering a replacement.
Examples include:
Extra teats
Sterility in a breeding-age buck
Carpal hyperextension diagnosed before three years of age
Approved claims will be satisfied with a replacement kid from the current or following kidding season. Monetary refunds will not be issued.
Mortality Policy
If an animal dies within 72 hours of leaving our farm and the buyer believes the death resulted from a pre-existing condition, a complete necropsy performed by a licensed veterinarian is required.
If the necropsy confirms that Little Prairie Farms was responsible, a refund of the purchase price will be issued.
Kid Raising Practices
Our kids are raised using a hybrid dam-raised/bottle-raised management system that encourages excellent socialization with both goats and people.
Kids remain with their dams during the day while being bottle-fed their dam's milk each morning after overnight separation. This system promotes strong milk production while producing friendly, well-socialized kids.
Bottle-raised kids may be available as early as 2–3 weeks of age. Most kids are ready for their new homes around six weeks of age.
All kids leave our farm:
Disbudded (unless naturally polled)
Tattooed
Current on coccidiosis prevention using Baycox® 5%
ADGA registered (does and intact bucks) with registration papers or stamped duplicate paperwork
Wethers will be humanely banded at approximately 12 weeks of age
Sales
Little Prairie Farms reserves the right to refuse or cancel any sale at any time, for any reason, if we believe it is in the best interest of the animal. In such cases, all monies paid toward that animal will be refunded.
We also reserve the right to place our animals only in homes that we believe will provide appropriate care and management.
Because goats are herd animals, we strongly encourage that every goat have at least one compatible companion.
